Slow Joy

Why are we all so busy all the time? Even when it’s really good things like lots of work with great people, playdates at the pool, evenings at the Escape Room with friends, meditation, cooking, exercise, books to read, shows to watch, and people to call—it’s still a lot! I am coming to have a deep belief that we need to find slow joy: rest, peace, tranquility, and downtime. We need unscheduled time to see what the world might have been waiting to bring us, but we have been too busy to receive. I don’t know if there is a magic bullet here because the waters in which we swim are full of productivity and doing—all the time. However, I am embarking on a new mission to find some slow joy in my life to really feed my soul and listen—I feel confident rewards await.

The Best Newsletter

Newsletters?! Really? Who still writes and reads newsletters? I know. We all get so many, and we actually read so few. But this one is my most favorite one of all time. Rachel is a copywriter for photographers. Talk about niche, but everything she puts into the world is gold. Her marketing ideas, her Instagram reels, and wait for it—her newsletters!! I highly, highly recommend signing up for her newsletters and then reading them. What? You never sign up for newsletters and then almost immediately send them to spam? I do. Not Rachel’s. It’s good.

Nimona

Have you seen this animated movie on Netflix yet?! Oh my goodness, it is so good! I love it almost as much as WolfWalkers (Apple TV+). We used to do family movie nights a lot, but then we ran of out of good movies that we could all watch, and there is so much garbage! The kids don’t mind watching shlock, but Nick and I would rather do other things. This was the first family movie night we have had in a long time, and it was such a success. The themes in the movie are amazing, the characters are fun, the animation and script are great!. We had Juniper (5 years old) to Opa (79 years old), and it was enjoyed all around.

I am always looking for new movies to add to the movie night list?
